The Centre for Death and Society at the University of Bath offers this unique multidisciplinary social science programme for professionals, pre-doctoral students, and interested laypeople.
The programme can be taken on a full time or part-time basis; teachers include Tony Walter, Glennys Howarth, Allan Kellehear and Clare Gittings.

- The MSc in Death and Society is appropriate for members of the caring professions who want to study death in its social and cultural context, or to explore issues of policy and practice.
- For those who want to gain multi-disciplinary perspectives and knowledge before going on to PhD.
- Anyone who wants to take a structured programme with leading death studies scholars.

This programme examines how societies organise, ritualise, theorise and symbolise death, and how social practices around death change. It enables students to 'think outside the box' of their own profession or discipline, not least by learning alongside students from other professions, disciplines and countries.

TV Documentary about Dying
- Can You Help?

We are two award-winning film-makers embarking on an ambitious project to document what happens when we die. Following the work of two leading scientists and their studies into end of life experiences we hope to open up this largely taboo subject and hopefully make the experience of dying less frightening for others.

To this end we are looking for contributors who are approaching death and who might consider sharing their experiences with us on camera.

We appreciate that this may seem an extraordinary request, but if you would like to find out more about the documentary and the scientists' research, please contact Emma Ross on (mob) 07801-070171or Sarah Cunliffe on (mob) 07802-645893 or during office hours call 01243-532531.

Emails to emmaross@bigwavetv.com or
sarahcunliffe@bigwavetv.com

All enquiries will be dealt with the utmost sensitivity.
