Muchwood Green Burial Ground, Cambridgeshire

Muchwood Green Burial Ground is a beautiful and peaceful woodland resting place in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire for people who love nature and the environment. We offer burials, ash interments and ash scatterings. Prices include a memorial tree or bush and an Oak recycled name plaque. You can also purchase a plot reservation for the future.

Since our inception in 1999, every grave has had a tree planted on it and the woodland we envisioned is taking shape. The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire became our partners in 2023 and together we will be able to make Muchwood a sustainable environment where nature and wildlife can thrive and their habitat is protected. This means that families have the peace of mind that the site will never be used for building on and will always remain a woodland. So by choosing Muchwood as your final resting place, you will become a vital part of nature forever. 

We leave several areas wild as this is cover for the wild animals and we do not cut the grass until the wildflowers have bloomed. But we do cut paths around so customers can access the graves. We plant wildflowers on every grave as these attract the bees, butterflies and other pollinators and create a beautiful display of colour at the site. 

We recently purchased some land to extend the site and by managing both areas in an ecologically sound way not only are we creating a place where wildlife is protected, we are also providing a beautiful, peaceful and comforting area for family and friends to remember their loved ones surrounded by nature. 

We welcome all faiths and funerals can be traditional or as relaxed and as simple as you wish. 

We have ample car parking space and the gates are open daily until dusk. 

We welcome dogs on leads and ask that owners pick up any mess.  

Toilet facilities are on site.
