Penny Barber - Redcar

Since retiring after 40 years of Nursing and organising my own fathers’ funeral, I have been working as both a Spiritualist Celebrant and a Civil Celebrant. I recognise that today we have diverse beliefs, not easily explained in terms of one Spiritual or Religious path.

I therefore assist in designing a Service, bespoke to your needs, supporting you in celebrating their life, whether it is Secular, Spiritualist, simply spiritual or a religious service, or perhaps for a fusion of beliefs; I have a deep and practiced understanding of life. I am used to being contacted directly or through a Funeral Director, most of who have my details in my chosen areas.

Should you choose a natural burial site, then it will be my privilege to assist you in having an experience which you will treasure.

It is highly acceptable for you to telephone me to ensure that I am the person who will fit your needs.

My fee is £160. This includes my visit to you so that we can discuss your needs. I then provide drafts of tributes, and running order of service details for you to amend and have printed if required.

I am also able to wash and dress the body, using chosen oils if required, having a wealth of nursing experience.

My Credentials I hold the Certificate of Recognition in the Spiritualists National Union, in Public Speaking and Demonstrating and have taken Church Services for 13 years. I am a Member of The Society Of Bereavement Practitioners. I am a published Author on death related subjects. I regularly take Civil Funerals and Natural Burials, working with local Funeral Directors if required and can provide reference points.
