Befriending Network A charity started by the NDC to help improve the quality of life for people living at home who have been diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Trained volunteers offer practical and emotional support through regular visits.

Those who are dedicating a tree to a loved one who has passed away may come to the forest, plant the tree themselves, and have a small ceremony. Collaborative project between the University of Sheffield & London Metropolitan University: "What is happening to the growing volume of human ashes now removed from crematoria by the families and friends of the deceased? We would like to talk to people who have taken the cremated remains of a relative or friend away from a crematorium to discuss what they chose to do with the ashes.
