UK Winner in The People's Awards for the Best Natural Burial Ground in the UK 2016, 2017 and 2018 and 2022. Regional winner in 2023 and runner up 2021. "Nothing was too much trouble, all wonderful. Such compassionate staff, lovely people. The whole experience, while sad, was so personal, positive, peaceful and truly uplifting." "Higher Ground Meadow is a very beautiful and tranquil place, and Jo the most helpful and kind person"
Set within an area of outstanding natural beauty, this traditional hay meadow has far reaching panoramic views over the Dorset and Somerset countryside. This offers families the perfect place to visit and cherish their memories. Some woodland graves are available which is creating a new copse within the meadow. Ashes may be scattered or interred. We welcome graveside ceremonies or if wet these can be held in the hay barn, with or without religion. Our beautiful wooden bier is always provided to carry the coffin to the graveside so creating a memorable occasion. This is a very special place, perfect for those who have an affinity with nature and the countryside. A Round barrow is currently under construction as a place for cremated remains.
