Hay Meadow Burial Ground is a unique natural, green burial ground situated amongst the Radnorshire hills in rural Mid Wales, offering both meadow and woodland burials.  A secluded, peaceful place off a country lane away from any disturbance being completely on its own, having no immediate neighbours.

Not being consecrated; we welcome any faith, religion or belief, graves can be blessed if wished so suitable for everyone. You can decide how you would like your service to be, making it as simple or as traditional as you like. Plots can be purchased in advance, singly or in family groups.

In the future, this family run burial ground will continue to be farmed as it is now, with the meadow also providing a crop of hay in late summer for the sheep which live on the farm. The 7,000 acres hills which surround this burial ground are protected being a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Graves are usually dug by machine but are always filled by hand.  Individual requests will always be sympathetically considered.

 
On Site Facilities 
  • Families are encouraged to help push the wooden bier which is free charge for all funerals.
  • Large car park with overflow areas if needed.
  • Shelter/barn for funeral gatherings. 
  • Disabled toilet facilities.
  • Large wooden gates that open into the burial meadow for ease for unloading any type of hearse.
  • Area can also be used for parking disabled persons so they can obtain a prime view of the burial ground while a funeral is taking place.
  • Picnic table close to entrance for anyone with walking difficulties so everyone can sit and enjoy the view of the surrounding hills.
  • Large memorial stone for those who wish to leave flowers that may have difficulty in walking or finding graves etc.
