Basic Funeral Option

The total cost of the basic funeral option from Sullivan and Son
Independent Funeral Services is £2095.

Please note:

A funeral can be either a burial or a cremation. The price of Sullivan and Sons Funeral Service Ltd's basic funeral option does not include cemetery or crematoria fees, also known as 'disbursements', which vary widely across the country.

If you're having a burial you can expect cemetery and grave preparation fees to be between £1000 - £3000 depending on location, eg graveyard or council cemetery.

If you're having a cremation you can expect crematoria fees to be between £350 and £1450. 

These costs will be in addition to the basic funeral cost quoted above.

Sullivan and Sons Funeral Service Ltd says about their basic funeral option:

£1595 = direct cremation price - includes cremation fee

£2095 = standard funeral including motor hearse and oak effect coffin

£2430 = traditional funeral including hearse and limousine, preparation and use of chapel of rest

The provision of a coffin for the person who has died.

Sullivan and Sons says: Oak effect as standard, manila cardboard used for directs. All other eco and alternative coffins available”.
 

Collection of the body of the person who has died and transport of the body to the place of burial or cremation.

Sullivan and Sons  says: "Includes collection during office hours on weekdays within 25 miles of Dover CT16 2LL. £65 surcharge for out of hours and £1.50 per mile extra distance.
 

The cost of co-ordinating the funeral on the day (not including performing the ceremony).

Sullivan and Sons says: "Includes Funeral Directors attendance at the funeral"

 

Direct Cremation Option

The total cost of the direct cremation option from Sullivan and Sons Funeral Service Ltd is £1595

Please note:

The cost of this direct cremation includes the cremation charge

There is no ceremony with this service and it is not possible to choose the crematoria or the time of day, although Sullivan and Sons will advise you where and when it will happen.

This direct cremation includes:

 

All costs for the cremation disbursement fee, doctor's fee and Sullivan and Son Independent Funeral Service's professional services and advice.

Sullivan and Sons says: Includes 24hour local collection, and cremation at Barham crematorium
 

All costs for appropriate care of the body of the person who had died until the cremation has taken place.

Sullivan and Sons  says: "Refrigerated cold room"
 

The provision of a cardboard coffin as standard for the person who has died.

Sullivan and Sons  says: "Cardboard casket"
 

Transport of the body of the person who has died to the place of cremation and collection and return of the ashes.

Sullivan and Sons says: "Use of our motor van as hearse. Free collection of cremated remains from crematorium or our office. Uk wide courier service for ashes available for extra cost.”
